An Evening of Music, Food and East Anglian Stories and Storytellers.
Local storytellers told their favourite, their funniest, their scariest stories.
A perfect introduction to storytelling for newcomers, showcasing stirring and engaging stories over a range of different story types. Those who already know how storytelling stirs the bood and imagination will be equally enthralled.

10:00 - 11:00 Workshop with Sarah Rundle: Getting the Sauce from Sources.
Learn how to turn dry historical facts into a good yarn that will hold an audience spellbound: how to find the narrative in your notes without sacrificing historical accuracy. Sarah’s own historical storytelling shows are meticulously researched and she will give you some of her best tips on how to cope with elderly academics in the British Library, how to track down the words of a rude medieval Italian lyric, and other obstacles you might encounter while transforming your material into a professional performance.
11.30 - 1.00 Animal Crackers
Fun, interactive and family friendly: a zoo full of stories from Hannah Brailsford, Vickie Holden-Swinton and Baden Prince.
2.00 - 3.00 Nick Hennessey: The Long Road Home.

3.30 - 4.45 Sarah Rundle: Rosamunda, Woman of the Lombards NEW SHOW!

Where did the rhymes begin? Find out the real story behind the rhyme, learn a ‘Coggeshall job’ and enjoy some puzzling stories for everyone 0-90. With Marion Leeper, Carl Merry and Jan Williams
11-30 - 12-30 workshop with Nick Hennessy: Open Mouth, Story Jump out!
Ever wondered what it would be like to tell a traditional story? Ever wished you had a story to tell? This workshop is a taster session, based on Nick’s magical four-day courses deep in the Lake District, exploring some of the skills involved in spinning a yarn, and helping you take your first step or next step in telling a story to an audience. This workshop will be repeated as part of the online festival.

1.30 - 4.00 Story round with Bards Aloud!
Be sure of a warm Irish welcome and a chance to warm your voice around the firepit with hosts Veronica Chambers and Gerry Donlon
4.30 - 5.30 Get on the Soap Box: open-mic with Amy Wragg
An hour of funny, fearless and political spoken word. Newbies, pro's, originals and covers - all welcome.

The Singing Hammer. Inspired by Finnish epic and ancient folk tradition, these stories of creation from the Far North give you a chance to encounter ‘storytelling brilliance at its best.’
9.30 – 10.30 A sweet dessert: Tales of Love and Lust with Maria Credali and Suki SilverTongue
A late night lovefest featuring tales brimming with romance, laced with love and spiced with a generous sprinkle of sassy, strong women….. Join us as we celebrate the glorious union that is Love and Lust!

Stories, jokes, and other surprises, all told for children and by children, featuring young storytellers from the schools in our outreach programme
10.00-12.00: Getonthesoapbox Craft club with Amy Wragg
Getonthe SoapBox Drop-In Craft Club. Meet the festival artist, make new friends and try your hand at a unique craft project using recycled materials. Each project will be pre-bagged with all materials and instructions provided. There will be a small charge to cover materials, starting from £3: projects include bunting, DIY zine kits, flower crowns and jellyfish. No special skills required. If you can tie a knot, you can do the lot!
10.10 -12.00 Story walk round Coggeshall
Follow some history-mad storytellers down the streets of Coggeshall and discover the stories buried in the walls of its medieval church and Tudor houses. Numbers limited, book in advance. Transport from Stock Street Farm Barn to Coggeshall and back included, leaves at 10.10 am Or meet Jan Williams at St Peter's Church Street, by the village sign at about 10.30am.

A surprise farewell event featuring some good friends of the festival and music from the folk duo Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer.
